Rules for writing Roman Numerals

We have already spoken in the past about the roman numerals and its profits today. Well, as you know, the subject is very broad and we must respect certain norms and rules. Roman numerals are used only with capital letters and each letter is assigned a numerical value. That may be the fundamental rule, but it is not the only one.

If you are going to use the Roman Letters try to do it for the numbers of chapters and volumes of a work; for the names of popes, kings, and emperors, as well as for congresses, appointment, assembly, etc.

Rule I : Here we will show you the corresponding values to each letter

Values: 1 5 10 50 100 500 1.000

Rule II : If between any two figures there is a smaller one, this will subtract its value to the next.
Examples: XIX = (20 - 1) 19; LIV = (55-1) 54; CXXIX = (130 - 1) 129

Rule III : Remember never put the same letter more than three times in a row. In ancient times the "I" or "X" is sometimes seen up to four times in a row.
Examples: XIII = 13; XIV = 14; XXXIII = 33; XXXIV = 34

Rule IV : For the values ​​greater than 4000, a horizontal line will be placed above the symbol, which will indicate that the symbol will be multiplied by 1000. For example:
