This copy of the world map by Waldseemüller, of which only four copies were known until now, has managed to go unnoticed for a long time in the library bound between two geometric engravings.
The person in charge of the department of old books of the University Library of Munich has been very excited with this discovery, since to its antiquity (500 years) we must add that it is the first world map in which it appears America as such.
Although it is highly unlikely that the German Government will decide to part with it, the price of this document It could exceed one million euros, since in 2005 another of the copies was auctioned at Christie's for more than 800.000 euros.
